Interweaving the real and virtual dance worlds, “The Pulse Within” is a story about Shirley Elle and her profound connection to Vogue dance.
In the film and photo series, I’ve created a virtual world where voguing dancers can showcase the beauty of the body, regardless of time and the space in which they live. And I’ve brought both Shirley and her virtual avatar together, imagining that her performance will never cease, traveling seamlessly among different universes.
